Tahiti Musicians Visit
June 15, 2005

On Wednesday, June 15th, I was on my way home from my swim at the County Pool and Faithy called my cell phone and said some people were at our home from Tahiti looking for you.

I came home and there were two truckloads of people, four of them were musicians from Tahiti. The rest were some people from Molokai and Oahu as part of the Kalama Ohana. These men came to play music for the Kalama Ohana Reunion and Boogie Kalama’s Birthday Party. We were able to talk story and have a jam session right in our garage. We hugged, they left, and we were so thankful to meet new friends as our circle of friends continue to expand in Tahiti.

We look forward to connecting with these people when we get to Tahiti again. Tino, Gino, Pierre, Michel, and Ikaika.

At about 6:45pm, one of the Tahitians called and asked if I might be able to bring some of my instruments as they were asked to entertain at the Hotel Molokai. Faithy and I got ready, loaded up the truck with four ukeleles, two guitars, a tub bass and a big filled with shakers and spoons and we had a great time playing music for over two hours straight at the Hotel Molokai.
